
Picture yourself sitting in a field of lavender. A light wind blows perfuming the air. Crickets chirp their song while birds swoop down through the flowers. Relax and close your eyes. Let the sounds of the lavender blowing in the wind pull away your anxiety. Focus on the soothing sound of nature. Your heart rate slows. Everything is calm and serene.
Why I made this soundscape:
This week they started construction on the roof of my house. All days from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM there are hammers and crow bars tearing the shingles and beams away. It echoes down through the whole building. It's difficult not to be anxious. So, I made this field of lavender to listen to while they work. We'll see if it can drown them out when they come back next week.
